When the “Internet” became a household word, those who wanted a presence on the Internet worried about the costs and effort it took to set up a website. Whether fun or money was the goal, to have a listing on the Net, you needed to have a website at that time. Amateur websites were more affordable, but were not terribly appealing to the visitor. The blog was concocted to be, in effect, a “poor man’s website” that would give you a place on the Internet minus the expense and hassle of getting a website. From one mans blog to the next the blog spot became a method for people to relate to one another on the Internet. It was free even though it was a little drab; but not for long.

Before long the modest blog spot offered the ability of posting photographs, change of fonts, and all the other stuff that normally came with websites. It wasn’t long before computer hobbyist were able to set up personal blogs that presented their opinions, their social life, information, warnings about scams, and even sold stuff. A blog, compared to a website, was quicker and simpler to set up – and very soon blogs began to spring up everywhere you look and on every topic you can think of.

Anyone can start blogging. This includes YOU – even given very little knowledge regarding the Internet. You can begin doing it as a hobby.

Pick a blog that appeals to you and begin leaving comments. In this way you will become familiar with blogging basics. When you feel a little confident, create a blog of your very own and I assure you that you will have all the fun in the world through it. Also you can use it to supplement your income if that interests you.

It’s important, if you hope to succeed, that your blog be on a topic for which you have a passion. Before you launch, spend some time to choose a subject of interest to you. One man’s pastime for example, can be a terrific subject for blogging.

You can initially talk about some personal experiences. As you progress, you can begin networking, making some friends, start adding additional types of content, and hold some exhibits through your blog spot. There are thousands of people who simply want to reach out and make friends with like-minded individuals, and there is indeed no better avenue to reach out than through a blog. You will learn a great deal and achieve immense enjoyment in the process.

Once you feel ready, you can begin earning some income by monetizing your blog. By now you will have earned some devotees who will advance your contacts even further.

Perhaps the least demanding pathway is to put Google Adsense or affiliate products on the Blog, and in this way you can earn revenue automatically. If you’d like to go a bit beyond you can begin promoting products with your blog. The blog spot that you created for entertainment could wind up earning you a real good sum of money by the end of the day.
